I was told by friends that tap shoes usually run a little small and I wear either a 7 or 7.5 normally. The feedback I read indicated that these shoes are true to size so I ordered the 7.5 and they are a little tight. I don't wear them every day so hopefully when I wear them more they will stretch out some. I probably should have ordered an 8.

Great for my adult tap class!
By S. Hill
I wore these to my first adult tap dance class today. I normally wear a size 9 1/2 - 10 medium and felt that the 10W were perfect. I had a pair of cotton socks on and they felt fine. I always purchase walking and running shoes in the larger size 10, the last thing you want is the shoe hurting you. Since I just wore these once so far, I can't comment about their durability.
So far, I'm happy with the purchase.

Order a half size larger
By Miz MtnMoma
I bought them a half size larger and that was just right. I had seen that on other websites and decided to follow that advice. I wear socks with these tap shoes to cushion my feet, which I knew when I ordered them. I might go for a slightly higher heed the next time I buy tap shoes so that I get the contact I want.
