Typical excellent Merrell shoe, but is NOT Gore-Tex.
I've owned about a dozen Merrell shoes of various configurations, mostly Merrell's "moc" designs. I purchased "Moab Waterproof" shoes from Amazon and am very happy with them. Sizing is true -- the 7.5 (US) fits me great like all other Merrell 7.5 shoes. I can't comment on durability as I haven't had them long enough, but all my other Merrells have held up great. I notice some potential confusion among the reviews of the Moab Waterproof (unless Amazon is grouping reviews of slightly different products). Some reviewers mention Gore-Tex; that is a different shoe. Merrell's website details two models -- the Moab Waterproof and the Moab Gore-Tex. You can also tell because the Gore-Tex model has a badge on the shoe that says...wait for it..."Gore-Tex", while the Waterproof is badged "Waterproof". The Gore-Tex model also carries a higher price tag (no surprise). I haven't had these in the wet yet, but I have considerable experience with both Gore-Tex and similar, non-Gore-Tex membraned motorcycle gear (I ride throughout the year in the northeast US). Gore-Tex is the King, but most of the other membranes work just as well as far as waterproofing. I find the difference is that GT does a slightly better job at venting. Just make sure when you order you are getting what you want: Gore-Tex or whatever Merrell's proprietary membrane is.
Addendum August 2013: I've done a couple of long hikes with these and they've been great. My feet have stayed dry during rain and shallow creek crossings. Keep in mind these are not boots, so if the water level rises above the shoe opening, all the waterproofing in the world isn't going to stop your feet getting wet.

My second pair - these are my everyday shoes in all kinds of weather
By Thomas B. Gross
This is my second pair of Merrell Moabs. I have really worn out my first pair over the past two years - I still have them and will wear them when doing things like painting but I had actually worn through the inside lining to expose the stiff plastic lining at the heel. I have been wearing them with PROFOOT Plantar Fasciitis Orthotics, Men's 8-13, 1 Pair as I do all shoes since developing Plantar Fasciitis - my symptoms began since I bought my first pair, so it's conceivable that it was the old Moabs that were the root cause of the problem, but since using the insoles I've had no problems, and I really really like the shoe. I wear it all year long virtually every day in all kinds of weather (winter, spring, summer and fall) in New England. I bought the olive-colored shoes this time because they were significantly cheaper ($80) than all other colors at the time of my order. I really like the color. Several times a day I will look down and think "wow, what nice looking shoes."

I am very grateful that I tried these shoes on at a local store before ordering them, as I needed to order a half-size larger than I usually wear. However, the slightly-larger-than-usual size fit just right. They are very comfortable. I wore them regularly on a recent trip to Alaska and had no problems. They are indeed waterproof as advertised; I got them messy while fishing, but simply sprayed them off with a hose and my feet were still dry as could be. In the end, I am very pleased with them and would certainly recommend them to others.
